My personal path
During my travels in India I got in touch with yoga and meditation. As my urge to look inside and to get to know my body and mind was very strong, I started to practise yoga regularly. I also went to long silent meditation retreats. The combination of practising yoga and meditation gave me deep insights into the connection between body and mind. When I did my first massage course in Rebalancing in 2003 I was immediately fascinated and touched by the art of touch. I felt that I easily came into a natural flow while massaging. I felt more present and grounded through performing this kind of work and I saw, that it had the same affect on my clients. This inspirend me to keep on following this path of the body.
How I work
I followed various courses and trainings in massage and body work from different traditions such as hatha yoga, Thai yoga massage, acro yoga, bio-energetic bodywork and shiatsu.
As I found that each massage technique has a certain quality and strength I often integrate different techniques into the session. I choose, what I feel is most suitable for my client and the effectiveness of the treatment. This can be deep strokes from the Rebalancing, intense stretches from the Thai yoga massage or working with the meridians and pressure points from the shiatsu.
The most important quality for me is being attentive, caring and present with my client during the treatment. From my own experience I know how healing someones real presence can be.
Tools for being present
I can fluently speak English, German and Dutch, so the session can be held in either on of these languages.
I will listen to my client attentively and try to truely see him/her. I also will adjust my touch to my clients body/spirit so that my touch really touches him /her on a deeper level.
During the session I invite my client to be in touch with the body and the world of physical sensations, as well as the world of thoughts and emotions. I will encourage my client to experience directly and with full awareness in the present moment.
My vision
Having direct experience allows you to relax with what is happening in your experience and find a new inner balance. This makes room to look at yourself and the world with new eyes.
For me these are the most essential tools for a happy and balanced life as you stay open and in touch and renew yourself moment by moment. I am more than happy to support you on this amazing journey.
